Carnegie Junior Fellows Program
The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, one of the world's leading think tanks specializing in international affairs, conducts programs of research, discussion, publication and education in international relations and U.S. Foreign policy. The Junior fellows Program at the Carnegie Endowment is designed to provide a substantive work experience for students who have a serious career interest in the area of international affairs. Approximately ten students will be hired to work at the Endowment on a full-time basis for a period of one year. Vassar may nominate two seniors or recent graduates for this highly selective internship which includes a monthly salary of $2,500 and benefits. The Office for Fellowships, Main N-162, will coordinate the application process for the College. Please consult with Lisa Kooperman, Adviser for Fellowships for details. Campus deadline: December 1, 2009. Selection of the Vassar nominees (2) will be made by a Faculty Committee. Applications should have very strong academic qualifications and have completed a significant amount of coursework in the area of international affairs, political science, economics, history, or Russian , Chinese or Middle East studies. Strong skills in analysis, logic, and written expression should be evident in the application. Letters of recommendation are required.

All pieces of the application must be submitted by December 1, 2009 to fellowships@vassar.edu
Do not send application materials to the Carnegie Endowment, you must first be nominated by Vassar College to continue in the competition.
Instructions for Applying, Projects and FAQ
The Vassar nominees will be selected by a faculty committee before the end of the fall term. Interviews may be required. It is the applicant's responsibility to see that both letters of recommendation are received at the Office of Fellowships. Incomplete applications cannot be considered. Submitting an application indicates your permission for the review of your Vassar transcript-you do not need to provide an official copy for the campus competition.
Final selection will be made by the Carnegie Endowment in April. Up to 10 will be selected from a national pool of applicants. The full-time, one-year internships begin August 1, 2010
