The 2020 W.K. Rose Fellowship will go to Nathaniel Aliister ’10, in the field of Playwriting.
Nathaniel was a Film Major at Vassar, with a correlate in English: Creative Writing. After graduation, he discovered that his passion was for theater, whereupon he founded the Fox and Beggar Theater, garnering acclaim for presenting work that combined drama, music, puppetry, circus, and dance. What impressed our fellowship committee was the breadth of his imagination, the extent of his ingenuity, and the depth of his commitment to bringing theater to underserved communities.
We have watched Nathaniel’s artistry develop over the past few years and enthusiastically conclude that Nathaniel is this year’s most deserving artist.
