Resources for Letter Writers

Current Vassar students and alumni who are applying with the support of the Vassar College premedical advisory committee are asked to open a file, completing a necessary confidentiality form, in the Office for Fellowships and Pre-Health Advising; applicants are required to request letters of recommendation through this office.

Writers should receive a request (usually via email) from this office outlining how to submit their letter of recommendation as well as what is helpful in a letter of recommendation for medical school. The guidelines from the AAMC listed below are included in that request. Letters should be submitted to as well as in hard copy, signed, on letterhead to box 122.

Any questions about this process should be directed to the or by calling 845-437-5263.
